beefing

Basically whatever happens to irritate me. Probably quite trivial but then why not? After all, the First Admendment says I can (but then the new Supreme Court may change that...)

It must be nice...

It must be nice to be a right wing commentator and to be able to spout out the most outrageous bullshit and get away with it without being sued for libel or even asked to defend your views. Think what Rush and Ann C--- would be like it they had to present their arguments in the form of a high school geometry proof. OK, that would be a bit of a stretch. How about them having to use the "relaxed" standard of proof required in a legal case in court???

Who cares???

......Who careas about "same sex marriage"???
......Personally, I do not care if consenting adults "sleep" with other consenting adults (as long as it ain't with my wife!)! I don't give a shit if gay men want to marry gay men or gay women want to marry gay women. If a couple of people love each other and are willing to committ to marriage, I say let them.
......The real objection to gay sex is the old testiment and people made squimish by "the things those people do". Have you considered that certain sexual activities (oral sex and anal sex) are sought after in a "straight" context but terrify in a "gay" context. Just about all men love to get blow jobs from women; the same blow job is regarded as horrible if a man gets it from another man. Men love to go down on women; women going down on women repells women and officially repells men (the trugh being the sight of a woman going down on another women greatly turns on the average man).
......I thought that staying out of people's personal lives is supposed to be a basic tenant of conservative philosophy. But, I'm a fiscal conservative (apparently unlike our current administration) and think the "state" should stay out of people's personal lives.

DISCLAIMER: I am straight and have never had gay sex!

......Instead of worrying about who gays are sleeping with, why not worry about strengthing straight marriage?
The introduction of this "issue" at this time makes me think El Presidente is trying hard to distract the public from

  1. Our modern Korea - the "forgotten" war in Afganistan,
  2. the apparent endless war in Iraq,
  3. the absolutely horrendous excuse for health care in the country (my youngest brother lost his medical health care plan and has been in hospitral basically all of 2006. He'll never be clear of those medical bills!)
  4. high gas prices and the piss poor federal response
  5. the general feeling that El Presidente is completely out of touch with the American Reality

"Marriage is under vicious attack now, I think from the forces of hell itself."-- Focus on the Family chairman James Dobson

I'm a little pissed off..

I'm in a social club which raises money for (anti)cancer research. Each year, we sell luminaries and also collect money. One of our team members promised to
  1. sell luminaries
  2. raise money
  3. encourage folks to donate
  4. attent our team meetings and
  5. attend the annual gathering at the local high school foot ball field...

We had the preliminary meeting this past Thursday but one club mmeber didn't show up in spite of saying he would. He didn't return my wife's calls either (she is team Captain).

I called him this morning and he said he hadn't sold any luminaries because "a woman got to me first".

"A woman got to me first"???

What about him being a team member and therefore responsible for selling $100 worth of luminaries? Logically, he should have "gotten" to himself first.

I asked "did you sell any luminaries or raise any money?"

        He replied "no money".

There being no point in continuing this conversation, I said good bye and hung up.

So, why am I so disgusted with this "no load" team member? Let's see...

        1. He is the advertising manager for a radio station and is expected to pay bills he agrees to,
        2. he is expected to attend business meetings he's agreed to attend,
        3. he is expected to honour his committments,
        4. he is a Christian Gentleman and is religiously honour bound to honour his committments lest he be accussed of lying and
        5. accused of stealing the money he didn't pony up...
So, why would I think him guilty of stealing? Well, he promised to raise money. The money he didn't raise amounted to robbing money from those who would benefit from (anti)cancer research.

I'm just a little too damn pissed off at the moment...

5 June 2006: I was being a bit too judgemental when I said these things about that team member. I probably should delete it but having published it already, what is the point?
