beefing

Basically whatever happens to irritate me. Probably quite trivial but then why not? After all, the First Admendment says I can (but then the new Supreme Court may change that...)

Boy Thoughts

Big Jupiter

on vacation?

I've read facebook entries by people who are outraged, outraged I say!, at Obama for going on vacation and not going to Louisiana. Their posts say Obama does not give a shit and that is why he has not gone down there.

Well, this isn't true!

The Louisiana governor told TV news reporters that he asked President Obama, Secretary Clinton and "The Donald" not to come down until the problems are under control. After all, a vast number of police, etc. are needed to escort the President and these same folks are now needed to work the flooding disaster.

Oddly, these good Republicans don't mention this.

"The Donald" went down to hand out a little of this and a little of that and to get his picture taken. For "The Donald", the Louisiana tragedy is a photo op. This so makes him not suited to be President!

Back to President Obama being on vacation. Who benefits from Obama cutting short his vacation and monitoring the situation in Louisiana from the White House? No one. Obama can be briefed while on vacation.

Do the Republicans really think the President is ever out of touch when on vacation?

bye bye Tim

Tim Heulskamp lost the primary earlier this week.

I'm happy to see him leaving this coming January 2017 as Tim has been an obstructionist and basically did nothing for "The Big One" or largest district of Kansas. He sponsored 45 bills and only one made it to a law.
He was a major sponsor of many attempts to overturn the Affordable Care Act (AKA "Obamacare").

I've asked Tim's men at the annual 3I shows why he won't create a replacement for "Obamacare".  His people generally looked at me like they had no clue what I was talking about.

Looking back, it is more like his people were responding with shock to the notion that anyone would want to replace "Obamacare".

After he was given the boot, Tim said "Kansas has lost" on his facebook page. Wrong, Kansas won and the only loser was Tim Huelskamp.

Now, poor Tim will go from living off his $174,000/year as a Congress Critter and whatever income he took in as a "farmer" to merely being a retired CongressCritter and "farmer".

IMPORTANT NOTE: Tim is 47 and will have to wait until he is 62 to gather any retirement pay. I DO hope he makes a nice paycheck from "farming" and can turn that PhD of his into income. I don't think he will have to turn to Food Stamps however...

write in votes

When I voted this morning, I noted a number of races with the "Write In Vote" option.  I know that "Write In Votes" are not tallied and the names not alphabetized and made available.

What is the point of offering a "Write In Vote" if you do not even present the raw number of "Write In Votes" for each race?

I think that presenting the number of Write In Votes is in the interest of being transparent.

(I wrote this note today and sent it to the Kansas Secretary of State.)
