beefing

Basically whatever happens to irritate me. Probably quite trivial but then why not? After all, the First Admendment says I can (but then the new Supreme Court may change that...)

Trump talk

Senior El Presidente Donald Jerk Trump is going to (gag) give his first (and last?) “State of the Union” speech tonight. I don’t give a fuck as I have no intention of watching this bombastic disgrace speak. I especially do not intend to listen to him! The Science Channel has “What on Earth?” at 8 pm and “How the Universe Works” (“Death of the Milky Way”) at 9 pm. I will record Cobert and watch it tomorrow. I don’t need the aggravation of Trump due to :
  • Trump patting himself on the back,
  • Trump claiming to have do soooo much and,
  • Trump blaming any problems on the Democrats.
Will somebody please tell POTUS 45 that when you have a Republican President, and the Republicans own the House, Senate and Supreme Court, then how can the Republicans blame problems on the Democrats?

shutdown day 2 (sigh)

The government is still shut down. Just think, if the oh-so-intelligent Congress Republicians had simply worked with the Democrats, they could have satisfied the Democrat's concerns. Then, both parties to the Congressional Wars could have voted for this continuing resolution. But, the Democrats could not and would not give up on their prencipals.

The news could then be about excess at Trump's first inaguration anniversity. This did not occurr.

I guess the government shutdown is not an absolutely total conservative disaster without any upsides...

tired reaction to the government shutdown

It has been clear for a while the Democrats want to pass protection for the "DREAMers" and the Republicans want the DREAMers to go away. The House decided not to perform the one action the Constitution requires them to do: write a budget!

The Democrats will work with the Republicans in passing their silly ass "continuing resolution" (CR)if and only if the Republicans vote to protect the DREAMers. The Republicans refuse to do so and the Democrats apparently thought they had no choice and voted to filibusterer the CR bill.

The government was shut down.

Trump is blaming the shutdown on the Democrats (silly reaction) and the Democrats are blaming the shutdown on Trump (after all, Trump killed a bill that could have brought the Dems and Reps together in answering both parties' concerns.)

Just how did Trump get erected President anyway? People knew what they would be getting?

I am embarrassed my country voted for Trump.

I made a point of "singing a hymn for Trump" before writing this note.

no replies from "my" congress critters

During the last part of December, I wrote my congress critters letters about the tax cut for the wealthiest people and corporations. I expected a reply from  Rep Marshall, maybe a reply from Senator Moran and no reply from Senator Roberts.

I got no reply from any of the three!

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they were overwhelmed with incoming letters. Who knows, this could be true?

Expected results to my letter of New Years Eve 2017

What results do I expect from my letter of New Years Eve 2017?

I probably will get a "don't worry" reply from Representative Dr. Roger Marshall.. I might get a nice reply from Senator Jerry Moran and I expect no reply from the Virginian, Senator Pat Roberts

Dr. Marshall is on his first term in the house of mis-representatives. He wants to continue to work there so he will be Paul Ryan's apparatchik. Senator Moran could balk or so I hope. I expect that Senator Roberts will "go along with the program".

I fully expect the three of them to fuck those of us on Social Security and Medicare.

I no longer believe any of these three truly work for the general population of Kansas; they work for Paul Ryan and Bitch McConnell (I don't recall being able to vote for either of these two foreigners.)

I depend on both Social Security and Medicare to help with my support and the support of my family. I wake up in the middle of the night worrying about the damage Trump et. al. have caused and the damage they are yet to commit. I fear for friends and relatives who will reach 65 in ten to twenty years and can expect to see the Social Security and Medicare they had expected to be gone.

The deficit was created by the House of Representatives creating budgets and the Senate mucking with said budgets and the Presidents signing off on them.

This is the first President I actively fear.

I am not used to this...

New Years Eve note to Congress critters

I respectfully request that you do not agree to any bills which would “reform” either Social Security or Medicare by cutting either fund. I am 66 years old and need both to support my family.

I remind you that Social Security is a retirement fund paid for from my payroll deductions; it is not paid from the general tax funds. Social Security is not a slush fund for the likes of Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell to loot at their leisure!

Medicare is supported by premiums taken from Social Security payments or checks written by tax payers who are not receiving Social Security.

You could save Social Security by doing the following:
  1. Forbid Congress from ever “borrowing” money from the Social Security fund.
  2. Increase the income cap for determining the amount of Social Security taxes.
  3. Require Congress to repay the money “borrowed” from the Social Security fund.
Be advised that 66 is my age and not my IQ. Should you support Paul Ryan’s and others. bill designed to reduce my Social Security or Medicare, I and undoubtedly a vast number of other “old people” will withhold our support next election. I am not displeased with your professional performance and would prefer to be able to continue supporting you.

Respectfully,

M.W.  Bell

No sense of humour

A Pizza Hutt employee (a young woman) was asked by two teenaged boys to put a joke on the lid of a pizza box. She put this joke on the lid. The Mother of these boys called the store and bitched; this got the pizza girl fired!

"What do a pizza delivery driver and a gynecologist have in common?"

"They both get to smell it, and neither gets to eat it"
