exercise in futility---my letter to Senator Moran

I will be mailing a snail mail version of this letter tomorrow morning. I still think a printed and signed "snail mail" letter carries more weight...

Dear Senator Moran,

A trial without witnesses or introduced evidence and a "jury foreman" who brags of working with the defendant’s lawyer is not a trial; it is a sham.

Donald John Trump will undoubtedly claim he "was acquitted" but the truth is, he was not. He was given a pass. His followers will call this an acquittal. To be blunt, the outcome of this “trial” was preordained.  I remind you that Donald John Trump lost the popular vote by more than 3,000,000 votes. There are, without doubt, many millions who will vote angry come November.

I can understand why you voted to "acquit". The news - which is not "false news" - is reporting the Senator Romney is being punished for voting in favour of witnesses. Apparently,   the Republican Senators had been warned ahead of time that there would be negative consequences to voting in favour of witnesses or introduced evidence.

You are a lawyer Senator Moran. Is this "jury tampering"?

Sending this letter will be an an act of futility given the number of emails, tweets and letters this Senator receives. Still, I feel better in making this attempt to "reach out"...
