beefing

Basically whatever happens to irritate me. Probably quite trivial but then why not? After all, the First Admendment says I can (but then the new Supreme Court may change that...)

Who the fuck voted for Paul Ryan?

I could not have voted for Paul Ryan. (I don’t live in “his” state.)  Why are we subject to the merciless bills of Ryan because our Representatives seem to be blindly following Ryan?

Didn’t I vote for Dr. Roger Marshall to serve my state and not Paul Ryan, the Borg Queen?

single payer system and drug price caps/cuts

We need a single payer system because our current profit based system is not working. This won't happen. What can happen is price caps on drugs.

Case in point: it is ridiculous that pharmaceutical companies can add a radical to an insulin “molecule”  whose patent is about to expire, call it a new drug and jack the price of this “new” drug.  I am not on insulin yet and resent the thought that I will some day be treated like a fucking cash cow!

If Congress can not or will not cap or cut drug costs, then we should be allowed to buy drugs from foreign sources. The objection will be that the FDA needs to protect us from those nasty foreign drugs. Aren’t we importing foreign made drugs as it is?

Must we be forever subject to nanny state agencies pimping for the uber rich pharm CEOs?

Why the piss poor ACA replacement bill?

Several years ago, I confronted then Republican House  member Tim Heulskamp’s  office manager at a 3I show. I said “Write a bill that achieves the goals ‘Obamacare’ was written for”?

He didn’t reply. He had a blank look on his face like I had suddenly started speaking in tongues.

I then explained what I meant an d I could see him trying to figure a way out. He did not find one!

So, the Republicans have had 6+ years to create an acceptable replacement for the ACA (AKA “Obamacare”).  They had time to create a bill that even the Democrats would have loved. Instead, it seems like they shit out their ACA replacement  bill (over beers?) in a month or two.  I expected better…

I was hoping the Republicans would remember they are elected to serve the entire public and not just those who can buy their way into the party. (I was thinking of the bone marrow assay my oncologist did on me. Without insurance, it would have cost me $9,700. With my insurance, it cost me about $380. Thoughts like this make me grumpy!)

disappointing ACA replacement bill

I was disappointed with the Republican ACA replacement bill. I was hoping for something  that would protect the American People and was not expecting tax cuts for the uber rich and big pharm.

How about price caps on pharmaceutical products? How about restoring the Regan Era taxes on the uber rich? (I hope the handful of people who read what I write don’t bring up the “trickle down” fantasy.)

integrity and balls

Will there be integrity and balls?

The latest CNN news is that 24 House Republicans will vote against Trumpcare and 4 more are leaning against this Trumpcare bill. Let us see if they hold true to this commitment or cave and vote for Trumpcare!

It will become common knowledge who votes for and against Trumpcare. There will be a lot of spin in the home town news. This spin will be supported by rich folks who apparently stand to get some serious tax cuts in the Trumpcare bill. (What, rich folks like the Koch brothers getting major benefits from a bill to provide health care to us peasants?)

Yup, it appears the motivation for killing Obamacare and replacing it with Trumpcare is tax benefits for the rich...

Neil Gorsuch

The Supreme Court want to be (Neil Gorsuch) is doing a masterful job of not answering questions about what he personally believes. It seems if confirmed, we won’t find out what he really thinks until he is on the Supreme Court.

I realize he has made a large number of court ruling but these may not be rulings that pertain to matters which would come before the Supreme Court.

We’ll see...

note for Congress critteres

I respectfully remind you that Congress wasted seven years in which they could have repaired the ACA or provided a better system that meets the goals of “Obamacare”.  Will there be public hearings on the “replacement bill”?

LATER NOTE: I did not email/post this note immediately after I wrote it. So, a further comment:

Congress did not bother with public hearings. Instead, they just published their punny little bill and El Presidente Senor Trump browbeat Congress critters hoping to get the silly shits -er- wonderful "Congressional Leaders" to vote for this clunker of a bill.

Things are going to go to shit quick enough...

about Trumpcare...

When campaigning, Mr. Trump said no one would lose their health care. Then, we started hearing that some 24 million people would lose their insurance. Now, we're hearing that not enough Republicians will vote for  (or is it Ryancare?).

I am curious to see if Trumpcare will pass tomorrow? If it does, the current POTUS and Congress own the results!

What could the results be?

  • Perhaps 24 million will lose health insurance.
  • A vast number of this 24 million will not be able to gain medical insurance.
  • A number of these uninsured will die of illness that could have been prevented had the victim had medical insurance.

I suggest every person signing off on Trumpcare be charged with voluentary man slaughter for each person who died

fewer future wars?

If the current Secretary of State believes we will have fewer future wars then I would love to see reports on the logical creation of this result.
